Generali Global Corporate & Commercial appoints Head of Property Underwriting in Asia

Hong Kong – Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) announces the appointment of Duke Ng as Head of Property Underwriting Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Generali’s regional headquarters, Duke will be responsible for leading the Property business across Asia and his appointment is effective from 1st January 2019. He replaces Joe Venetico who recently retired from the company in December 2018.

Commenting on the appointment, Hayden Seach, Head of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial Asia said, “We are delighted to announce the promotion of Duke who will be a great addition to our regional team. As a technical expert, he brings the risk appreciation capabilities and expertise coupled with a strong understanding of the Asian insurance landscape which will help to drive Generali’s underwriting excellence across the region.

It is particularly pleasing that we have been able to identify his replacement from within and this appointment reflects the strength and depth of talent we have within the business.”

Duke has 18 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined Generali Global Corporate & Commercial in 2015 as a Risk Engineer, Senior Manager Greater China. Prior to joining Generali, Duke was Risk Engineer Senior Manager at Zurich Risk Engineering Group, based in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Duke has an Electrical Engineer background from City & Guilds London Institute, a master’s degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Deakin University, Australia, as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
