Generali has a strong and growing presence in Asia. Generali operates branches in Hong Kong and Japan and has a joint venture with SM Group in Philippines and the Pornpat Group in Thailand. In China Generali has a joint venture with CNPC (China National Petroleum Corporation) and despite only commencing operations in 2001 is already the largest international insurer operating in the China market.

All Generali Asia operations are supported by the Generali Asia Regional Management office based in Hong Kong. The regional team is a specialist team which undertakes responsibility for business development through the identification and development of strategic opportunities in the region. They are responsible for the management and coordination of the Generali entities in region and are responsible for developing the business model blueprints ensuring a consistent and successful approach to business and maximizing synergies across the region. The regional team is also responsible for managing all regional and high profile projects as well as in sourcing specialist implementation partners where appropriate.
