Consolidated Results at 31 March 2009- a positive first quarter

Milan, 13 May 2009. The Board of Directors of Assicurazioni Generali approved the quarterly report at 31 March 2009. The results at 31 March 2009 confirm the effectiveness and solidity of Generali’s business model. Despite the severe repercussions of the worsening recession on the insurance industry, the first quarter was a positive period for the Group, which made significant progress compared with the fourth quarter of 2008.
